Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what information VGCal ("we," "our," or "us") collects when you use the Service provided at https://www.vgcal.com, and how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
Without an account
VGCal does not use analytics, tracking or advertising tools, and does not assign you a visitor identifier.
The preferences you change (for example the platforms shown in the calendar) are saved in a cookie in your browser.
With an account
Authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party provider. You can sign in through Google, Twitch or Discord. Clerk processes your authentication data (such as your email address and username) to enable login.
When you use VGCal while signed in, we store:
- your Clerk user identifier, primary email address, username and profile picture URL, and your Discord user identifier and username if you signed in with Discord;
- the games and releases you track (your list);
- the reminders you set, and a record of the reminder emails we send you (recipient address, content, delivery status).
Error reports
When the website encounters an error, a technical report is sent to Sentry so that we can fix it. It contains the page address, browser and operating system versions, and technical details about the error. IP addresses, cookies and request headers are not included.
2. How Information is Used
We use this information only to provide the Service:
- to sign you in and manage your account;
- to show and keep your list of tracked games, and to provide its calendar feed;
- to send you the release reminders you asked for;
- to find and fix errors.
VGCal does not use your personal data for advertising, profiling or analytics, and does not sell it.
3. Cookies
VGCal only uses cookies that are needed for the Service:
- authentication cookies set by Clerk when you sign in;
- a preferences cookie that remembers your settings.
No analytics, tracking or advertising cookies are used.
4. Third-Party Services
- Clerk provides authentication. Please review Clerk's Privacy Policy and Clerk's Terms of Service. When you use Google, Twitch or Discord to sign in, their respective privacy policies apply to the data they handle.
- Sentry receives the error reports described above. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.
- Resend delivers our emails. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Game data, including names, descriptions, trailers, and release dates, is provided by IGDB and Twitch, its parent company. Please review Twitch Terms of Service and IGDB Content Policy.
Some pages display images hosted by third parties, such as YouTube video thumbnails, Twitch stream previews and Amazon product images. To load them, your browser connects to these services, which receive your IP address and browser information.
Links to Amazon products are affiliate links: VGCal may earn a commission on purchases made after following them. Once you are on Amazon's website, Amazon's privacy policy applies.
5. Data Retention
Your account data is kept as long as your account exists.
To delete the data VGCal stores about you (your list, reminders and the related emails), contact us at support@vgcal.com. Deleting your account through Clerk removes your authentication data.
Error reports are kept by Sentry for a limited time, then deleted.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@vgcal.com.
7. Security
Authentication security is managed by Clerk. VGCal relies on Clerk's infrastructure for account protection.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 13. If you are under 13, you may not use the Service.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
VGCal may update this Privacy Policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Continued use of the Service indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
